A Mediterranean brunch is a delightful way to embrace the region’s fresh, vibrant flavors. Having recently started skipping breakfast in favour of fasting, brunch is now one of my favourite meals, and the options are endless. Here are some key elements for a healthy Mediterranean brunch and ten great recipe ideas.

Use fresh fruit & vegetables to add color and nutrients
Whole Grains
Include quinoa, farro or whole grain bread

10 Easy Mediterranean Brunches
Below are some of my favorite Mediterranean brunch ideas. I actually struggled to narrow it down to 10, as there are so many fantastic options, and brunch can be so diverse.
Shakshuka
Poached eggs in a rich tomato sauce with onions, garlic, bell peppers, and spiced cumin and paprika. For a twist, add spinach.
Smoked Salmon & Avocado
Spread whole grain or sourdough toast with cream cheese and top with avocado, smoked salmon and capers. For extra protein add a poached egg
Mediterranean Fritatta
Bake a mixture of eggs, cherry tomatoes, olives and spinach. Top with Pesto for extra flavor. For a quick snack option, prebake in muffin cups.
Quinoa & Greek Yogurt Pancakes
Use quinoa flour and Greek yogurt to make protein-packed pancakes and serve with honey and fresh berries.
Mediterranean Sweet Potato Hash
Sauté sweet potatoes with red onions and cherry tomatoes. Add a sprinkle of smoked paprika and top with a fried egg,
