10 Best Menswear shops in and around Palma de Mallorca
Palma has always been famed for its stunning architecture, boutique hotels, beaches, restaurants, nightlife, and incredible Port. It is a perfect backdrop to while away the days hopping from bar to bar on a Mediterranean city break.
However, as I have found out, often hidden in the winding old town streets amongst the Pinchos Bars, an overlooked attraction is the fantastic shopping it offers. A pleasant surprise if, like me, you love to while away the days hitting the shops and the bars!
As you would expect from the Capital of the Balearics, Palma has many of the usual suspects when it comes to shops, but venture off the beaten track, and there’s so much more.
So here are my top 10 best menswear shops that are well worth a visit, both for those like me who call this incredible island home and the vast number who visit each year.
It’s also worth noting that garments are often sold at the same price in euros as in sterling, so they offer significant savings compared to purchasing in the UK.
1. Sandro Paris
Av. de Jaume III, 1, Centre, 07012 Palma
A personal favorite for menswear, long considered a hallmark of Parisian style and quality, the Palma store has a great selection; if you are looking for stylish classics or something a little different, it is worth a visit.
2. American Vintage
Carrer de Sant Nicolau, 12, Centre, 07003 Palma
It’s a new brand for me, but it is real quality and affordable for the slightly edgy and interesting garments on offer. One I’ll undoubtedly be frequenting regularly.
3. La Principle
Carrer dels Paraires, 5, Centre, 07001 Palma
It is an independent menswear boutique that’s easy to miss but well worth seeking out, offering a wide range and eclectic mix of quality brands, including Closed, Nudie Jeans, Rains, Filipp K, and plenty more. I found every brand to be excellent quality so even if you don’t know the brand, you can’t go wrong
4. Orlebar Brown
Carrer de Sant Nicolau, 11, Centre, 07001 Palma
Home to the original tailored swim short, now an essential stop for Mediterranean fashion, tailored shorts, fitted polos, or linen shirts, the perfect look whether by the pool or enjoying Mallorca’s Med nightlife
5. Vilebrequin
Carrer de Sant Nicolau, 9, Centre, 07001 Palma
A summer icon, every summer wardrobe should include a set of their famous turtle trunks, but there’s so much more to them than that so be sure to take a look!
6. Café Du Cycliste & Rapha
Plaça del Rosari, 5 & Placa del Rosari, 1 Centre, 07001 Palma
With Mallorca a hotbed for cycling, I had to include these two stores, only a stone’s throw from each other in the same Placa. Perfect for those looking for more stylish cycle wear when taking on Mallorca’s famous mountain routes.
7. Hackett
El Corte Ingles, Avinguda d’Alexandre Rosselló, 12-16, Llevant, 07002 Palma
The perfect English gent vibe, traditionally inspired by the London fashion scene. The store has three floors, including tailor-made formal clothes, their sport chic line, the Aston Martin Racing collection, and their accessories.
8. Carhartt WIP
Carrer de Sant Nicolau, 22, Centre, 07001 Palma, Illes Balears, Spain
If you are looking for a more rugged workwear-inspired casual look, this is for you. Great for oversized shirts, casual jackets, relaxed T-shirts, hoodies, and cozy clothes in the colder months.
9. Massimo Dutti
Carrer de Sant Feliu, 1, Centre, 07012 Palma, Illes Balears, Spain
The perfect stop for those stylish staples that nail the smart casual vibe. From jackets and knitwear in colder months to tailored shirts, it is a cut above the likes of Zara and perfect to pair with some of the great brands on this list.
10. Mallorca Fashion Outlet
Autovía Palma-Inca, Km 7,1, salida 8, 07141, Balearic Islands, Spain
Located on the outskirts of Palma, if you are looking for an American-style alfresco shopping mall, this is it. Offering discounted items from a great range of brands including some of which you won’t find shops elsewhere on the island. Brands include Polo Ralf Lauren, Nike, Diesel, El Corte Ingles, Camper, Boss & Converse, to name a few.
Why not make a day of it here with a selection of restaurants and even a cinema once you have exhausted the shops?
Summary
Although it didn’t make my top 10, I’d also like to mention El Corte Ingles, the fantastic Spanish department store with everything you could need under one roof, including a great selection of brands in their menswear section.
I hope you will agree there are more than enough great menswear shops in Palma to keep even the keenest shopper happy. The only trouble for those visiting might be fitting it all back in the suitcase when going home.
Happy shopping, everyone!
